Tree Huggers make setup a little quicker, they also reduce the amount of loose rope ends you leave hanging. Using Huggers allows you to use different way of setting up, such as whoopie slings and karabiners.
Being much broader than rope, there is less pressure on the tree, so they're less likely to damage bark.
